Driving Routes
There are two ways of getting to Furano from New Chitose Airport by car. The most suitable for Hokkaido first timers and the safest route during winter is Plan 1 shown below.
Please be note that the Express Way may be closed or under speed restriction occasionally during winter due to weather conditions. The Distance on Plan 2, (which is commonly used among the locals during summer) is shorter than Plan 1. However we will not recommend using this route during winter since you have to drive through the mountains and the road is winding on Rt.452. Be aware of the wild animals when driving at night in the summer season.
