  Lavender Fields in Highland Furano

 

Highland Furano Hot Spring provides not only a spa but lavender fields, reasonable accommodation, restaurants and BBQs. There is a beautiful forest with a path to wander about. The falling autumn leaves are always popular here.

  Torinuma Park

 

The precious Torinuma Spring Park is surrounded by various kinds of trees, plans, insects, birds and fish. Free boat rides available. You simply take the boat from where the previous guest left it and can row your way around the crystal clear lake.

  Asahigaoka Park

 

Asahigaoka park has a nick name “Namako Yama, Sea Cucumber Mountain”. Here you can enjoy viewing 3000 cherry blossoms bloom in mid May. The views of downtown Furano and Mt. Tokachidake are also picturesque.    

  Yamabe Nature Park “Taiyo-no-Sato”

 

Located at the base of Mt. Ashibetsu dake ‘Taiyo-no-Sato’ features a camping site, tennis court, putt-putt golf course and moderate accommodation. There are two trekking courses in the forest and lavender fields here. 

  North Western hill observatory park

 

This observatory park has 5 ha. of lavender fields, sunflowers, poppies, cosmoses, and purple salvias. There are beautifully picturesque views of the rolling hill country as well as the Taisetsu mountain range which can be seen from the point of the pyramid shaped observatory. The Tourist Information Center is set in the Northern Hill Observatory park where they also sell some souvenirs. This facility was opened by the Kitadai area Agricultural Environmental Development Project in 1995.

  Senbo Pass

 

Senbo Pass is located 400m above the sea level which gives you a breathtaking view of the Furano Basin, the Tokachi Mountain Range and the rolling hills of this beautiful rural district.

  Sanai hill observatory park

 

This park is located in the middle point between the outside of town and Takushin Kan (Photo Art Gallery) and there are trails where you can roll or stroll around this hill observatory park on rental bikes or by foot walk. You can see the whole picturesque panoramic road and meet the eyes of Mt. Taisetsu and Tokachi Mount ranges at the direction of North West and Bibaushi elementary school with the famous tower to the South East.

  Shinei hill observatory park

 

This park is located in the middle point between the outside of town and Takushinkan (the Photo Art Gallery) and there are trails to enjoy strolling in this park on rental bikes or by foot. The sunset views from here are renowned as being one of the best in Japan.

  Hart hill park observatory

 

Large rest and car parking area with panoramic views of downtown Furano and Mt. Ashibetsudake.
