Located at 1280m above sea level, Ryounkaku is the highest drive to point in Hokkaido. Ryounkaku is spectacular in every season with hot spring lovers coming here for the great water and amazing views from the baths throughout the year. In the non Winter months hikers enjoy the soothing waters after breath taking hikes over the volcano and in winter skiers and snowboarders wishing to hike and ski some of the best backcountry in Japan in the winter, recover in the onsen. The hotel rooms are traditional Japanese style and have some spectacular views. |

Rooms are spacious and guests sleep on mattresses called futon, which are laid on the tatami floor. The mattresses are extremely comfortable and are not at all hard or difficult to sleep on. |
